“This is the critical first step. It gives our clients a set of objective criteria to use when evaluating designs.”

space programming
Programming and predesign is a formal discipline, but one that we like to keep low-key and helpful for clients. We meet with owners and operators to talk about philosophy, project function and budget/quality criteria. From this, we determine specific requirements for space allocation and adjacencies, operating procedures, projected sizes, furniture, finishes, fixtures and equipment. We review these requirements and objectives, then develop a written program for your review and use.
Once this program is approved, we develop schematic studies to confirm the appropriate relationships between worker and patient spaces, staff support spaces and public areas. We then prepare scaled plans, illustrating space planning for all public and/or private spaces.
