He’s also an active member of the Construction Specification Institute and the International Code Council, which isn’t surprising, given his emphasis on the importance of ongoing education He says, “one of the firm’s strengths is the way it continues to develop its understanding of the built environment.” He’s a member of the AIA and has served as president of the Greenville chapter.
Like all of the firm’s principals, Paul believes strongly in the value of long-term relationships. “It’s essential in healthcare. We develop very detailed familiarity with our clients’ facilities, what’s working for them or not, and what can be done to better suit their daily operations and their long term objectives.” Currently, Paul is in the final phases of a six-story Patient Care Tower addition at Oconee Medical Center, which opened this summer. Proof that Batson has fostered a valued, long-term relationship with Oconee Medical Center, Paul is now completing design of a Joint Replacement Center at Oconee Medical Center. This specialized unit will focus on the post-operative care of patients having total hip or knee replacements.
Paul is also involved in masterplanning a new satellite campus for Palmetto Health Baptist Easley. The first project on this site will be a Comprehensive Outpatient Center housing urgent care, diagnostic services, and physician practices.
