Oconee Memorial Hospital
Outpatient Services Addition
Seneca, SC
Oconee Memorial had three objectives for their new outpatient services addition: Meet the community’s growing demand for services closer to home. Transform the face and image of a struggling rural hospital, to make it more contemporary. And, most importantly, recapture market share, reversing a trend that saw both patients and physicians going to other nearby hospitals.
We handled virtually every phase of the project, beginning with master planning and finishing with construction administration. The completed facility, a two-level building of approximately 65,000 SF, features emergency, radiology, laboratory and outpatient registration on the main level (we designed the facility to allow expansion of every clinical department). Level two features LDR rooms and complete surgical services. Connecting corridors provide direct access to the inpatient tower for patients and staff.
The American Society of Interior Design recognized Brenda Simmons for her work on this project, with an Honor Award for Design Excellence in Healthcare Projects over 10,000 SF.

“We’ve worked closely with Ken and his staff to identify planning issues. We’ve addressed them one at a time, while they focus on the issues associated with success.”
