“This firm understands the organic connection between design and nature.”

G. Michael Nelon, AIA, LEED AP

Senior Project Manager

Michael joined the firm in 1995 and currently serves as Senior Project Manager.  He has worked on a wide range of healthcare design projects, as well as selected educational and church projects.

His recent healthcare work includes Oconee Medical Center's New Joint Replacement Center, renovations for the Angel Medical Center in Franklin, NC, renovations and additions for Bamberg County Hospital, and renovations to a skilled nursing facility in Orangeburg, SC. He continues to work on our Rock Springs Baptist Church project.

Michael earned a B.S. in Design and master's degree in architecture, with a concentration in Health Facilities Planning & Design, from Clemson University.  He's a NCARB certificate holder and registered in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee.  He turned an interest in gardening into a professional qualification, becoming a Master Gardener in 1999 and joining the American Society of Landscape Architecture as an affiliate member.

"I'm proud of the work we do for our clients in landscape design," he says. "The evidence shows that garden environments have a restorative effect on patients, families, and staff, and it's satisfying on so many levels to integrate landscape design into healthcare facilities."
